The Grand National, Britain’s most popular horse-racing event, kicks off this weekend and more people than ever before are expected to watch the 177-year-old race.
This year, the main event has been moved to 5.15pm on Saturday to let even more people take in the spectacle on TV.
A worldwide audience of 500 million are expected to tune in while 40 horses compete for a £1m prize fund by running 4.4 miles and jumping 30 fences.
The favourite this weekend is last year’s winner Many Clouds, but there is no such thing as a sure bet at the Grand National with the all-time favourites win-rate standing at just 15 percent.
