Ryan Sessegnon enjoyed a dream Champions League debut as the Tottenham youngster scored his first goal for Spurs on Wednesday night.

Sessegnon, 19, joined Tottenham from Fulham in the summer, but his start to life at Spurs has been hampered by a hamstring injury.

The winger had made just two substitute appearances for Spurs before Wednesday's Champions League trip to Bayern Munich, and was handed a role on the left flank by Jose Mourinho.

Spurs boss Mourinho had compared Sessegnon to former Chelsea and Arsenal full-back Ashley Cole in the build-up to the match at Allianz Arena, and the 19-year-old duly repaid that talk with a superb finish.

With Bayern leading 1-0 thanks to an early goal from Kingsley Coman, Sessegnon found space at the near post and smashed the ball past Manuel Neuer on the volley to equalise after 20 minutes.

At 19 years and 207 days old, that goal also ensured Sessegnon broke a club record to become Tottenham's youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League - a record previously held by Dele Alli.
