Manchester United's new signing Amad Diallo has hinted at an imminent arrival at Old Trafford.

Diallo, 18, was signed on the final day of the summer transfer window in October for a fee which could rise to around £35m, but remained with Atalanta until January as United secured a work permit.

That permit is reportedly expected to come this month and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to make Diallo part of his squad this season rather than a second loan spell.

"We have had all the paperwork, I can't see any obstacles. He's coming," Solskjaer told reporters following the Reds' 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Friday.

"I hope very soon he will be with us. I'm very excited about bringing him in. I think he's shown a few times his qualities.

"Of course he has to learn to play in England, that's a different level of football. We'll give him time to develop and to express himself.

"Apart from that, I'm not really thinking too much on what we're going to do with players. Of course, we're always working long-term. That's the big thing. We have targets we need long-term for the club."

Diallo, on Sunday, posted a picture of himself on a private jet, leading many to assume he is on his way to Manchester this week.

Though other reports claim he was flying to Milan to finalise the paperwork required to then complete his transfer to Old Trafford.
