Leyton Orient have sacked manager Alberto Cavasin, the League Two club have announced.

Under Cavasin Orient lost eight out of 10 games in all competitions to sit one place above the League Two relegation zone.

The 60-year-old Italian was appointed by the O's on October 2.

"The club can confirm that Alberto Cavasin has been relieved of his managerial duties with immediate effect," a statement read on the club's official website.

"We thank him for his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well for the future and he departs the club alongside head of fitness Alfredo Vergori and Matteo Festa.

"Andy Edwards will now take charge of the team on a permanent basis until the end of the season with Danny Webb stepping up to the assistant manager role."

Cavasin had previously managed Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Lecce in his native Italy.
