A planned protest march against Arsene Wenger proved to be a damp squib as no more than 25 Arsenal fans turned up at their former stadium Highbury to make their frustrations heard.
Supporters had planned the event ahead of Saturday's Premier League game against Everton, which follows two defeats - away to Bournemouth and Swansea - in the last three top flight matches.
However amid drizzling rain the protest proved to be a tough sell to supporters, with around two dozen stood outside the east stand of the former Highbury at 3:45pm.
Those that did attend soon faded away.
Though Arsenal’s league form has disappointed this season a sense of optimism has been restored around the club in recent days, with the club-record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for £56million and a new three-and-a-half year, £350,000-a-week contract for star playmaker Mesut Ozil.
Anti-Wenger marches and aerial protests had been held last season before games against Bayern Munich and Lincoln, but momentum fizzled as it became clear the Arsenal manager was set to sign a new two-year contract, which he did after May’s FA Cup Final win over Chelsea.
