Chelsea will only sell Asmir Begovic in January if Antonio Conte signs back-up goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois first

Chelsea will only sell Asmir Begovic this month if they buy a replacement first.

The Premier League leaders are considering a £10million offer from Bournemouth, and Begovic wants to move in order to play first-team football.

But should he leave this month, Eduardo will be the only back-up to Thibaut Courtois - and the Portugal international has not played for Chelsea since joining from Dinamo Zagreb last summer.

One option is Diego Lopez, who came close to moving to Stamford Bridge from AC Milan last year.

But he is playing regularly on loan at Espanyol and it will be hard to convince him to leave to become a second-choice at Chelsea.

Courtois became first-choice at Chelsea after returning from his three-year loan spell at Atletico Madrid, ousting Petr Cech as Stamford Bridge No.1 for the start of the 2014/15 season.

The Belgian's fine form in west London has seen him linked with a return to Madrid with Atletico's city rivals Real.
