Chelsea ratings vs Leicester: N’Golo Kante ‘unstoppable’ on King Power return with Reece James also a threat

Chelsea moved six points clear at the top of the table with another impressive performance.

Antonio Rudiger, N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic got the goals in a comfortable 3-0 win over Leicester.

Here’s how James Robson rated Thomas Tuchel’s men at the King Power...

Edouard Mendy 7

Two acrobatic saves denied Amartey and Maddison from distance. Good handling whenever the ball came into the box.

Relieved to see the flag go up when Lookman got the wrong side of him to score in the first half.

Picked for his pace when Leicester hit on the break and was generally on top.

Thiago Silva 8

An early scare when Vardy beat him too easily to cross into a dangerous area. After that, he rarely looked like being caught out and was in complete control.

Toni Rudiger 8

Vital clearance at one end denied Lookman an almost certain goal, then it was his expertly-flicked header that opened the scoring for Chelsea.

A real threat on the right-hand side to keep Leicester on the back foot and give Chelsea an outlet.

N’Golo Kante 9

Cheered like a returning hero by the home crowd – and then showed them exactly what they’ve missed since his departure. Unstoppable performance and a wonder goal, too.

Jorginho 7

Gave Kante the freedom to attack by covering him midfield partner’s forward runs. Used the ball as well as ever.

Ben Chilwell 7

Should have opened the scoring when hitting the bar from close range. Kept charging forward and forced an excellent save from Schmeichel after the break.

Mason Mount 5

Worked hard, but rarely got beyond the Leicester defence. His passing could have been more incisive.

Kai Havertz 5

Provided a useful focal point, but rarely got himself in position to test Schmeichel, despite Chelsea’s good build-up.

Callum Hudson-Odoi 6

Runs and dribbles worried Leicester and stretched the defence. Needed to do better with his final ball.

Christian Pulisic (Havertz, 63) 7

Did what Tuchel required when coming on. Gave Chelsea a new dimension in attack and got the third goal to kill off Leicester’s challenge.

Hakim Ziyech (Mount, 63) 6

Set up Pulisic’s goal and hurt Leicester with his runs.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Jorginho, 77)

On for the injured Jorginho and helped Chelsea retain control in midfield.

Not used: Kepa, Alonso, Christensen, Werner, Barkley, Azpilicueta
