Brighton vs Crystal Palace: Prediction, kick off time, TV, live stream, team news and h2h results today

Jonathan Gorrie14 January 2022

Crystal Palace travel to rivals Brighton tonight looking to claim bragging rights at the Amex.

In recent years, the hosts have represented the more progressive of the two teams, although Patrick Vieira’s impressive rebuild of a Palace side scoring more goals and generally playing better football makes for an interesting match-up.

A 1-1 draw earlier in the season may not instantly stick out in the memory for neutrals but, given the history between the two teams as well as their fiery rivalry, there can be few better starts to the Premier League weekend programme.

In Graham Potter and Vieira, two of the most promising young managers working in England will square off in front of what promises to be a raucous crowd.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Brighton vs Crystal Palace is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off tonight - Friday January 14, 2022.

The Amex Stadium in Brighton hosts the match.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace team news

Crucially for the home side, Lewis Dunk could be back in contention for the squad at least after his recent injury, although they will miss Yves Bissouma given his involvement in Mali’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Jeremy Sarmiento and Enock Mwepu are both sidelined.

Palace will be missing Jordan Ayew, Wilfried Zaha and Cheikhou Kouyate due to the AFCON but Conor Gallagher is available in the Premier League once more.

Having impressed in the FA Cup, Michael Olise could be in the XI, too. James McArthur and James Tomkins are both out, but Vicente Guaita should play.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace prediction

Palace have tended to score more goals since the two sides met in September but have been somewhat leaky in defence. For that reason, perhaps we can expect somewhat of a thriller.

2-2 draw.

Head to head (h2h) history and results
