Arsenal ensured they got off to winning ways in their new away kit as the Gunners overcame Bayern Munich with a 2-1 victory in Los Angeles.
Unai Emery's side were sporting their new 'bruised banana' change strip for the first time as they took on German champions Bayern in the International Champions Cup tie at Digital Health Sports Park - the home of the LA Galaxy.
Arsenal started brightly with a strong first XI, with Emery picking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in attack.
It is no secret that Arsenal are courting Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, and the Gunners' early tactics of pressing Bayern high up - with one or two forward often on goalkeeper Manuel Neuer - suggesting that Emery plans to work his players hard and break at speed on the counter this season.
The first half ended goalless despite chances at either end, with Bernd Leno in impressive form. Bayern changed their entire starting XI at the interval, but the first goal came from an unlikely source, with 18-year-old Louis Poznanski turning an Aubameyang cross into his own net.
Aubameyang and Reiss Nelson both missed gilt-edged chances before Robert Lewandowski showed them how it is done with a bullet header into the top corner to seemingly net a point for Bayern, but Nketiah popped up with two minutes to go to toe-poke a late winner and earn Arsenal three ICC points.
