A series of stunning images from a Norwegian artist have brought some of the world’s most famous soccer stars to life in innovative new ways.
The series, called #Soccerminionz, shows the likes of Lionel Messi, Andrea Pirlo and England captain Wayne Rooney with their characteristic expressions or celebrations. For Messi this means fingers pointing to the sky in celebration, Roma legend Francesco Totti sucks his thumb whilst unfortunately Rooney is captured in one of his all too common fits of rage.
Robin Gundersen from Bodø in northern Norway is the artist behind the images and has been posting images on his Instagram page over the past year. He told Standard Sport: “In the middle of Bodø I work with illustration, graphic design, typography, branding and more. And when I’m surrounded by beautiful mountains and beautiful scenery there is plenty of inspiration to absorb.”
