Andres Iniesta pulled on a Barcelona shirt for the final time at the Camp Nou on Sunday night as the legendary midfielder made his last ever appearance for the club.
Iniesta, 34, will move on from Spanish champions this summer, and brought the curtain down on his glittering Barca career against Real Sociedad at Barca's home ground.
The Camp Nou crowd paid a stunning tribute to the Spain international before the game, with fans joining forces to form a mosaic around the stadium which read 'Infinit Iniesta'.
Iniesta, a European Championship and World Cup winner with Spain, won 32 trophies during his 16-year spell with the La Liga giants.
Barcelona won the game 1-0 courtesy of a Philippe Coutinho goal, with Iniesta departing 10 minutes before the final whistle in a lengthy, emotional substitution as team-mates, opponents and fans paid tribute to him.
Iniesta's departure will create a big hole in the LaLiga champions' side, but Valverde is confident they can cope without him.
"We won't get a replica of Andres Iniesta," Valverde said in the build-up to the game.
"We have players like Denis Suarez, (Carles) Alena or (Philippe) Coutinho, who are similar but a little more attack-minded.
"All of us will have to make up for his absence together."
