AFC Wimbledon midfielder Anthony Hartigan is set to leave the club after rejecting the offer of a new contract.

The 22-year-old will become a free agent this summer and has opted to walk away after the club’s relegation from League One.

Blackpool, Rotherham and Preston are all tracking the player, who was also linked with Bolton earlier in the season.

Wimbledon were keen to keep hold of Hartigan, who has made 152 first team appearances – including 42 this term.

Hartigan’s current deal ends on June 30, when he will be free to move.

Because he is under 24, Wimbledon will be entitled to fee, which may have to be set by tribunal if a figure cannot be agreed with whatever club he eventually moves to.

Wimbledon were relegated from League One on the final day of the season last Saturday.

They finished 23rd in the table following a winless league run stretching back to early December.
