Barcelona nudge aside United in race to sign Bayern's Lahm

Manchester United may lose out to Barcelona in the chase for Bayern Munich full back Philipp Lahm, 24. He has reportedly agreed a four-year deal with Barca after Bayern rescinded their contract offer to him, but United are also keen on him due to concerns over Patrice Evra's contract and Gary Neville's future.

Barcelona, who face Deportivo tonight, will rest Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi ahead of Tuesday's Champions League semi-final second leg at Old Trafford.
