Dianne Buswell has broken her silence online after she was left in tears during Sunday night's Strictly results show.

The professional dancer, 34, and her celebrity partner Bobby Brazier found themselves in the dance off against Angela Rippon and Kai Wriddington during the series’ Blackpool special.

Fortunately, the Australian dancer and Brazier’s Jive to Wham’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go impressed the judges and they were saved from going home.

After learning that they had survived another week in the ballroom, Buswell broke down in tears. Her tearful display comes as she revealed last week that her father has undergone his first round of chemotherapy.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Buswell shared a series of snaps with her celebrity dance partner in Blackpool and said she was staying positive: “Extremely grateful for another chance to dance and to show you what this amazing boy can do.

“I don’t take any day or dance for granted I want to thank everybody who took the time to vote for Bobby and I we appreciate it more than you know.

“Despite a dance off, that was Bobby's highest score and he is improving week on week. He started this thing with zero experience so what he has achieved is pretty incredible.”

Seemingly referring to their next routine, which will be Couple's Choice, she added: “We have something pretty special for you all this week coming up”.

Buswell previously opened up about her dad Mark's ill health in a YouTube Q&A, and spoke about her heartbreak of not being near him in Australia while he is undergoing treatment.

She shared: “I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all. Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously that affected me.

“Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing, so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that.”

The BBC star shared that her family had plans to spend Christmas in the UK and watch her on Strictly, but given her father’s health, she will now travel to Australia at the end of the year.

When originally sharing his health diagnosis, she said there was “a little road ahead” for him, but believed he was “going to be fine”.
