Perrie Edwards reveals son Axel’s full name and the sweet meaning behind it

Perrie Edwards has revealed her son Axel’s “real name” and it’s a touching nod to his famous footballer dad.

The Little Mix singer, 30, welcomed her first child with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, 29, in August 2021, and since then has often given fans glimpses of the little lad.

Now, Edwards has shared that his middle name is Xander, in tribute to his midfielder dad, whose full name is Alexander.

The Shout Out To My Ex hit-maker divulged the information during an Instagram Q&A, where she was asked: “How did you decide on the name Axel for your baby?”

Edwards has spoken candidly about the challenges motherhood has presented since first joining the club almost two years ago and hailed online forums as helping her feel less alone through it all.

“I love Mumsnet! Oh my god, I love it. It’s so good. Every time I get worried about something I’ll just type it into Mumsnet and find what all the different mums are saying about whatever it is,” she told MailOnline.

Adding: “It’s helped me not to feel alone because it’s like you’ve got loads of women there who are in the same boat and they all just get it. It’s so nice. I love it.”
