Gordon Ramsay has been criticised by fans for adding a small lamb dish that looks like spam to his costly tasting menu.

Ramsay, 55, proudly shared a video to Instagram of the Suffolk lamb, which is being sold at the chef's swanky Pétrus restaurant along with the seven dishes costing a whopping £125 per person - and faced swift backlash in the comments.

In the clip, Ramsay is seen pouring a sauce over two small pieces of lamb on a plate, which also has young peas, girolle mushrooms and mint.

He captioned the post: "Just look at that stunning Suffolk lamb over at @petrusbygordonramsay!!"

One fan quipped: "That Spam looks lovely!"

Another wrote: "You've lost touch! Not only is it not nice to look at, but it'll finish in 30 seconds and more than a day's wages for many. Do better!"

A third added: "You spelt Spam wrong! And it costs how much? You couldn't pay me to eat it," with someone else commenting: "Now that looks like a dog's breakfast."

However, a few came to the chef's defence saying it's likely to be tastier than it looks, while others said they would be happy to tuck in.

Some also pointed out that it was perhaps the smallest dish on the tasting menu.

The celebrity chef also faced backlash recently after jumping into a lamb enclosure and asking which of the flock was ‘ going in the oven first?’

One person commented: "That looks yummy!" with another writing: "It looks like it came out of a fairy forest. Amazing, beautiful. It's so pretty and bright. I love it."

The Hell's Kitchen star recently came under fire from fans on TikTok after he posted a video showing him clambering into a lamb enclosure and scaring the flock while saying: "Yummy yum yum. I’m going to eat you.

“Which one’s going in the oven first?"
