Strictly Come Dancing professional Aliona Vilani fears that rumours of a romance with Jay McGuiness could hinder their chances of winning, according to reports.

Vilani – who is married to Vincent Kavanagh – was paired with the former The Wanted singer but is said to becoming ‘stressed’ by the rumours.

"Aliona really thought she could win again but that is disappearing and she blames the rumours about Jay and her,” a source told The Sun.

“She denies anything is going on but doesn't help herself by constantly cuddling up to him and flirting. That encourages speculation, which stresses her out and affects her performance."

McGuiness addressed rumours of a romance earlier this month, telling reporters that his “eyes won’t wander”.

"Aliona is happily married to an Irish fellow who I think is a legend,” he said.

"So my eyes won’t wander in our rehearsals. She's the one in control and I’m the one who needs to be constantly told what the hell it is I’m supposed to be doing."

The Strictly pair secured the first 10 of the series last week with their jive to a Pulp Fiction medley – but McGuiness couldn’t retain the success on Saturday night.

The singer received just 25 points after stumbling and missing his footing during a disappointing foxtrot to The Who's My Generation.
