Love Island winner Amber Gill has suggested that she could move to Ireland to be closer to her boyfriend Greg O’Shea.

The beauty therapist from Newcastle and the Irish rugby player were announced as the winners of series 5 last week after topping the public vote, beating Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague.

Speaking on Love Island: The Reunion last night, host Caroline Flack questioned the pair over how they would make a long distance romance work.

After O’Shea claimed that cheap flights make it “easier than it seems,” Gill responded: “I might move to Ireland.”

Her revelation caused O’Shea to look shocked while the studio audience cheered.

The couple said that they still “don’t understand” how they won the hit ITV2 dating show and revealed that they plan to be “sensible” with the £50,000 prize money, which they chose to split during the final.

Gill confessed that she had “lost hope” before O’Shea arrived in the villa, after being dumped by fellow islander Michael Griffiths.

“I was like, I’m never going to find an instant connection, this is the worst thing I’ve ever done and then [O’Shea] walked in,” she said.

The reunion episode also featured interviews with Maura Higgins, Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard, who addressed Hart’s emotional departure from the villa following an awkward love triangle.

Danny Williams also reunited with Yewande Biala following their split, while narrator Iain Stirling described this year’s cohort of contestants as “categorically the best ones yet” as “none of [them] would stay together.”

“I had no idea who’d be with who from one day to the next… it was crazy and I loved it,” he said.

ITV confirmed earlier this month that Love Island will run for two series next year. The first, which will be filmed in a new villa in Cape Town, South Africa, is slated to air in January.
