Ojos de Brujo are superficially centered on the compelling vocal presence of Marina Abad, but their real flair lies in their slick revitalising of traditional flamenco, with all manner of flavoursome rhythmic disciplines.

The tight spirals of rumba - all dizzying guitars, emotional harmonies and pixelating percussion - are fleshed out with splashes of jazz, salsa, turntable scratching and rap, presided over, of course, by Abad's scorching vocals.

The densely populated results, full of sex and feeling, are a joyous, modern, and wholly irresistible celebration of the beat, regardless of the country of origin.
