Campbell-Brown cleared to compete

Jamaican sprinter Veronica Campbell-Brown has been cleared to return to competition after being given a public warning for the doping test she failed earlier this year.

The three-time Olympic gold medallist had been suspended since the test came to light in June but had denied being a drugs cheat.

The Jamaican Athletics Administrative Association has now reviewed the 31-year-old's case and decided not to impose a further ban.

"The disciplinary committee has issued a ruling that VCB (Campbell-Brown) has committed an anti-doping violation, contrary to IAAF Rule 32.2a," a statement said.

"They have recommended that a reprimand without any period of ineligibility would be appropriate. All relevant parties involved have been duly informed."

Campbell-Brown had returned a positive test for a banned diuretic at the Jamaica International Invitational meeting in May.

Campbell-Brown has won seven Olympic medals, and been crowned world champion in both the 100m and 200m, taking the latter world title in Daegu in 2011. In the London Olympics last year, she helped her country win silver in the 4x100m relay and bronze in the 100m.
