Friends fed up with the time-consuming stress of trying to book a cheap group holiday online have launched a WhatsApp-based travel agent for millennials — and it is free.
My Swft allows users to message key information on their holiday and receive an itinerary and estimated cost per head — including the cheapest flights available online that day and a place to stay — within three hours.
It has no booking fees and can be used for group skiing trips and European city breaks, with a summer holiday feature launching soon.
Pals Jasper Cox, 29, Tom Pain, 31, and Peter Rawlinson, 32, came up with the idea while frantically planning a skiing holiday on WhatsApp last year.
Within six months the trio, who met at Durham University and live in Clapham Junction, quit their jobs in finance, sales and design and used their savings to launch the service.
Mr Cox said: “We were booking a holiday and realised the only way is you go online, look through websites with over a million hotels on each, sift through various deals, do a price comparison. It takes forever.” He added: “We realised we could do it for free if we got enough suppliers to give us a sales commission.”
Their main customer base is Londoners like them, in their twenties and thirties, and they are launching a £20,000 crowdfunding bid for more advanced software. Details at myswft.com
