The man acquitted of killing Jill Dando says he still fears being attacked after he was threatened at gunpoint and told to "watch your back" after walking free.
Barry George, 58, was initially found guilty of the murder of television presenter Ms Dando but acquitted of the charges in 2008.
The popular BBC television host was shot on the doorstep of her Fulham home.
He told the Mirror that he does "not feel free" and is looking over his shoulder after he was threatened in emergency accommodation in Hackney.
Mr George is convinced that the threat came from someone connected to the presenter.
"When I was put in emergency accommodation in Hackney, I was stood in a long hallway and I had a gun put to my head and was told 'Watch your back," he said.
Following his aquittal, Mr George then fled to Ireland in the hope of starting afresh.
He made a claim for compensation for lost earnings and wrongful imprisonment however it was rejected in January 2010.
According to the Supreme Court, a person is eligible for compensation if they can prove that no set of circumstances could have led to their conviction.
In Mr George's case, the judges ruled that he did not pass this test.
