He’s back. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Terminator and governor of California, has landed on the comment pages of the Financial Times today, after travels to Algeria and Belgium. “Brussels is filled with cobblestone streets, priceless art and history,” says Arnie in his tour of the non-American horizon. And Algiers “is filled with cranes, new projects and almost finished buildings.”
Arnie’s kick is environmentalism, warning the US that it will fall behind the rest of the world unless it works out how to do clean energy. Lest we think he’s gone soft, Arnie adds: “This is not about hugging trees.” Though his arm span is big enough to hug a rather big oak.
