After Crazy Coqs we await Acorn Antiques

24 September 2013

After Celia Imrie’s sensational cabaret appearance at Crazy Coqs last week with two naked blacksmiths, Kit Hesketh-Harvey and James McConnel are wondering whether to get naked and oil up for this week’s show.

“We’re not so much Crazy Coqs as Acorn Antiques,” says Kit. “We’re treating it as a dummy run for an engagement next week at Nicholas Parsons’ 90th, where we are the cabaret. Our run at Edinburgh is now so long established that one audience member was literally carried in on a stretcher. Better than being carried out.

“It’s our second season this year at the CC. We’re thrilled: it’s the perfect cabaret room for us”.

Kit then jokes: “Next year we once again go out on tour with Joan Rivers, if we can get her out of cryogenic preservation. Thoughts are that the show might be called Joan Rivers On Ice. Two nights at the Albert Hall should finally finish the old girl off.”
