There’s something magical about sleeping under the stars. One travel provider has taken that simple concept and transformed it into a luxurious experience for the discerning camper. With more travellers venturing abroad to the likes of Elqui Valley in Chile or Sark in the Channel Islands for a spot of astrotourism, you can now take to the high seas to glamp on a luxury yacht and drink in the starry sky.
Celebrity Cruises has just announced a new offering for its guests called Galapagos Glamping, which is a far stretch from the shaky zip up tents at Glastonbury Festival. The unique experience takes place on the top deck of their Celebrity Flora vessel (as close to the sky as possible) and allows four guests the chance to call two luxury cabanas home for the night - one for sleeping and another for dining.
To enhance the experience, a naturalist is available to explain the wonders of the universe and delve into the story behind the various constellations.
Besides the chance to bask in astrological glory, one lovely touch is the fact that stargazers will also be treated to a decadent campfire-inspired dinner, including bespoke cocktails and the quintessential s’mores. The next morning, guests wake to a sunrise breakfast in bed before returning to their luxury cabins.
