1. Bet My Brains- Starcrawler

I’m so excited about this band. They are young and fierce and brilliant live. Arrow is a marvel on stage, existing in that wonderful space between performance art and rock n roll. There is a wonderful freedom when watching them, that anything can happen and anything goes.

2. Murdered Out- Kim Gordon

This song excites me so much. I love how it sounds. I love the song itself, the lyrics, the harsh drums, the in your face unforgiving guitar tone. When it came out I listened to it a dozen times straight. It’s always in my list of favorites. It’s a song I wish I’d written. High five Kim!

3. Feel Good Hit of the Summer- Queens of the Stone Age

Hands down one of my favourite bands of all time. The title of the song says it all. Ultimate party song for all seasons.

4. Bad Girls- MIA

I’m obsessed with this video. This song makes me want to drive my car on two wheels. I must get around to learning how to do that.

5. List of Demands- Saul Williams

Always on The Kills playlist backstage… it’s a total rev up song. Commonly blasted at ridiculous volume before going on stage. Jamie and I ended up covering this song last year and it was such a cool experience getting that up close and personal with Saul’s work. He’s completely brilliant.

6. 50ft Queenie- PJ Harvey

Reminds me of my late teens/ early 20’s. I love this song and this video for it’s pure power and simplicity. Her work was a massive inspiration to me, and still is.

7. Tengo un Trato- Mala Rodriguez La Nina

I’ve been learning Spanish for a while and on my hunt for great songs sung in Spanish, I discovered Mala Rodriguez. I dig her a lot. So many great tunes. I play this song for my 3 yr old neice and she absolutely loses her mind.
