This year’s batch of celebrity wannabe chefs are gearing up to battle it out on the new series of Masterchef.
Stars including Amy Childs, Donna Air and Strictly Come Dancing pro Gleb Savchenko have all been announced as contestants for the 2016 show.
Joining them on this year’s line-up are a host of stars from the worlds of acting, sport and showbiz, who will all have their spatulas at the ready in a bid to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Fresh from his turn on The Jump is es-EastEnder Sid Owen, who will go up against fellow Walford resident Laila Morse.
Keeping up the pop star contingent is Blue singer Simon Webbe, who has already tested his nerves on I’m A Celebrity, and former Sugababe Amelle Berrabah.
Reality circuit regular Sinitta has also signed up to the show, despite the fact she ended up ordering takeaway while appearing on ITV’s Who’s Doing the Dishes.
Former England rugby player Neil Back will also be attempting to whip up some impressive dishes, as will Olympic god medal winning boxer Audley Harrison.
Paralympian Liz Johnson will also compete in the kitchen as will priest and former pop star Richard Coles.
Other additions to the line-up include Shameless star Tina Malone, magician Alexis Conran, presenters Cherry Healy and Louise Minchin, Tommy Cannon and Antique Roadshow’s David Harper.
Even YouTube stars are getting a look-in this year as vlogger Marcus Butler will also be donning his apron.
After a predictably tough few weeks, whoever reaches the final will be tasked with cooking a five course dinner for the Chelsea Pensioners to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The twelve-episode series will air over six weeks, kicking off on BBC One next month.
